When and how do I get paid?
Unless otherwise designated by the company, Team Members will receive their payroll checks every Monday (weekly) for work performed during the previous time period. When payday occurs on a holiday, payments will generally be processed on the last workday before the holiday. When you are hired, you will be asked to complete a direct deposit form with your bank information. If this ever changes, please contact Human Resources at hr@kentoil.com or 432-520-4000 to get a new form. If you do not have a bank account, you can request to get a pay-card. How do I earn sick pay and vacation time?
Regular full-time and part-time Team Members are eligible to accrue one (1) hour of sick time for every 50 hours worked from the Team Member’s date of hire. Temporary Team Members are not eligible for paid Sick Leave. Accrued Sick Leave is to be used for a Team member’s own illness or that of an immediate family member. Sick Leave can also be requested for doctor’s appointments. Eligible full-time Team Members begin receiving vacation after completing one (1) year of continuous employment. Upon reaching one (1) year of service, a Team Member will automatically receive one (1) week of vacation. Vacation time is earned as follows: after 1 year = 1 week, after 2 years = 2 weeks, after 5 years = 3 weeks. Vacation requests must be approved by your supervisor and submitted to Human Resources and Payroll at least two weeks in advance of the proposed vacation. Approval for all vacation requests is at the discretion of your supervisor, based on the business needs of the Company.

Who can I talk to if I have a problem or something bad has happened?

What is the dress code?
Dress, grooming, appearance, and hygiene standards contribute to the morale of all Team Members and affect the image the Company presents to the community and our guests. Team Members are expected to present themselves appropriately and dress according to the requirements of their position. Team Members are required to dress in a manner consistent with the standard set forth by the Company. Attention should be paid to safety, company image, and customer interaction. The Kent Companies requires that all store Team Members maintain a clean and neat appearance at all times.
What is the process if I have a complaint about a policy or practice of the company?
If you have a job-related problem, question or complaint, you should first try to discuss it with your supervisor. The simplest, quickest and most satisfactory solution will often be reached at this level. If the discussion with your supervisor does not answer the question or resolve the matter satisfactorily, or, if you are not comfortable addressing this issue with your supervisor, you may present your complaint to Human Resources. If the matter is still not resolved satisfactorily, or if you do not feel comfortable discussing the matter with your supervisor or Human Resources, please contact the COO or President.
What if I have a suggestion?
The Company values the input of our Team Members and is committed to maintaining a work environment in which everyone can communicate openly and without fear of retaliation or discrimination. You will receive a printed copy of the Team Member handbook as well as an emailed version.
How can I learn about what is happening in the company?
We email out a weekly newsletter every Thursday with highlights from all departments in the company. Please ask your manager to print out a copy each week. Past newsletters can be downloaded here. We also have a news section on our corporate website http://www.thekentcompanies.com.
